A number of 10,459 residential units were launched in the Greater Bangkok in September, showing a slight decrease from the previous month, according to a survey by Agency for Real Estate Affairs.
In August, 11,486 units were launched.
Of newly-launched units in September, 9,765 are condominium units (88.5 per cent), 722 are townhouses (6.9 per cent) and 319 single-house units (3.1 per cent).
Sopon Pornchokchai, executive chairman of the property consulting firm, attributed the decrease partly to floods. Most projects launched in the months are in city areas, mostly along mass-transit routes. Most single house projects are located in highly-populated areas, with few launched in the areas heavily-flooded in 2011.
The combined value of the new units launched in September was Bt34 billion, compared to Bt40.37 billion in the previous month. About 54 per cent of the new units is priced in the range of Bt1-Bt3 million.
