A lawyer Friday called on the court to issue an arrest warrant for Chalerm Yoobamrung, in his capacity as chief of the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO), for going ahead with the deportation of Indian businessman Satish Sehgal.
Chalerm recently signed an order to deport Satish, president of the India-Thai Business Association, for allegedly inciting illegal activities under the emergency decree and leading members of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) in raids into several government agencies.
Wanthongchai Chamnankit, who also represents PDRC co-leader Thaworn Senneam, said Friday that Chalerm clearly violated the court's February 19 ruling barring him from enforcing several measures under the decree, including the deportation of foreigners.
The court has accepted Wanthongchai's petition and will hold a hearing on March 25.
