Police will seek arrest warrants for nine People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) guards on charges of illegal detention and assault after obtaining security camera footage as additional evidence from deputy government spokesperson Sunisa Lertpakawat.
Pol Colonel Charut Sarutyaporn, superintendent of the Pathumwan Police Station, and Sunisa announced this at a press conference that was televised live on Channels 9 and 11 Wednesday.
Charut said police had decided to press charges of intimidation, illegal detention and assault against the nine guards after obtaining footage of Sunisa's detention and after medical examination showed she had been physically assaulted.
On February 26, Sunisa said that as she was walking out of Siam Square, some 10 to 20 men chased her from behind, grabbed her hair, locked her arms and dragged her into the guards’ office.
